Worship Services

St. John's hosts a service every Sunday and a service on Wednesday. In addition, all are welcome to Sunday Evensong and Taize services held at the Chapel of the Holy Innocents on the campus of Bard College. Each service is described below.

Sunday 10 AM

Our service follows the full service liturgy as describe in The Book of Common Prayer. The service music is accompanied by organ. The service ends at approximately 11:30 AM and is followed every Sunday by coffee hour in the Church's meeting room.

The service is Holy Eucharist on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month, and Morning Prayer on the 2nd and 4th Sundays. For more information on these two services, please follow this link on-line to The Book of Common Prayer.

Wednesday Noon, Healing Service and Pastoral Hours

St. John's offers a Healing service every Wednesday at Noon.  The Rector conducts this service for most of the year, except during the Summer months when the Curate or the Eucharistic Lay Minister conducts the Service.  The Book of Common Prayer is used and attendees pray for the persons on our Prayer List.  This Prayer List is located in Breck Hall where congregants are welcome to add names of the sick to our list.

The Rector is available at the church prior to the Wednesday service for pastoral appointments from 9:30 AM to Noon, except for late June, July and early August (refer to the Calendar for specific dates).  Otherwise, Summer pastoral appointments can be arranged by the Church with the Curate.

Chapel of the Holy Innocents, Bard College

Sunday Evensong services are held at 7:30 PM every Sunday during the school year.

A Taize Service which is an ecumenical form of Christian worship was formerly held at the Bard Chapel. For more information on the Taize forms of prayer and meditative singing,
